Olympic History
Game On!
Looking back at our Olympic past as we sprint towards London 2012!
Our Olympic history programme for primary schools celebrates Olympics past and present in conjunction with the London Metropolitan Archives and their new Winning Endeavours website.
Dressed in traditional sportswear from the 1940’s, Big Wheel actors will visit your school to lead a series of fun and educational Olympic themed activities for your pupils.
We offer a full day of activities for the whole school or interactive theatre workshops for groups of 60.
Highlights include:
- A display of photos, letters and adverts from the 1908 and 1948 Olympics.
- Designing your own medal, stadium, or sportswear.
- National anthems from around the world.
- Our very own Big Wheel Olympic sports.
- Famous moments from past Olympic games re-enacted right in front of you!
- Learning about the history of the Olympics and finding out how much it has changed over the years.
"The Olympics activities were interesting and fun for children of all ages. The background music and medals to take home were an excellent touch!"
