The Team

Roland Allen

Artistic Director

Roland set up Big Wheel back in the day - 1984 to be precise. As well as researching and writing much of the material for our workshops he also leads all our NHS and corporate projects.

He has dipped into other avenues including working as a language support teacher for refugee children in London, writing a novel in Italy, looking after luxury properties in Europe and being a full time Dad.

When not at Big Wheel he can be found cooking up a feast for his partner Sarah and their two children Davey and Charlotte.

George Philip

Office Manager

After a narrow escape from a locked flat on the morning of her audition in 2007, George made it just in time to be hired as a performer for Big Wheel.

In 2010 George became Office Manager at Big Wheel HQ and she continues to perform in shows across the UK and abroad.  She is a part time carnival masquerader and a full time chocoholic.

As a maestro of all things musical she is a talented singer who also plays the flute, piano, bass guitar and of course, the tuba.

Rhiannon Fisher

Director of UK Schools Projects

Rhiannon joined Big Wheel in 2005 as a performer and became our Director of UK School Programming in 2007. As well as scheduling our UK work she continues to tour and direct teams.

She is a pro at seeking out the nearest swimming pool on tour. After studying at the University of North Carolina she went on to receive her Masters from the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Rhiannon volunteers for Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Radio and is a big fan of Mexican food and Beyonce.

Jeni Williams

Director of European Schools Projects

Jeni came on board in 1989 as Roland's business partner.

Jeni is responsible for the scheduling and marketing of our European work and is often hopping off to glamorous locations to direct our teams on tour.  She also works part-time for Oxford Study Courses, a company providing extra tuition courses for students preparing for the International Baccalaureate.

You will often find her dancing to Paul Weller (sometimes in the office), cheering on Arsenal or knitting something beautiful!

Louise Adams

Director of Modern Foreign Language Projects

After living in France for five years, Louise returned to UK shores and joined the team in 2008 when she helped to create our French language show Voulez-Vous?! She now helps to coordinate Big Wheel's Modern Foreign Language shows in the UK, and occasionally sets aside her croissant to perform in other Big Wheel tours.

When she isn’t telling tales in French & Spanish, Louise can be found gardening on her tiny urban roof terrace, hiking in the hills or indulging in an exquisite box of Belgian chocolates!
